Introduction

This policy explains how ReefDrift ("we", "the app") handles information. It applies to the iOS and Android apps.

Key points. There is no account and no server that stores your data. Tanks, readings and logs stay on your device. The free version shows ads from Google AdMob, which collect some data (see below). The app contains no analytics or crash-reporting SDK.

Data you enter

Tank profiles, test readings, dosing entries, maintenance logs, reminders and settings are stored in a local database on your device. An optional tank photo stays on your device. We never receive any of it. Deleting the app deletes this data from the device.

Advertising (free version)

The free version shows banner ads from Google AdMob. To serve ads, Google and its partners may collect and process data such as your device's advertising ID, IP address, device and app information and ad interactions, subject to Google's privacy policy. We do not receive this data.

Consent (UMP): where required, for example in the EEA and UK, the app shows Google's consent form before requesting ads.
iPhone (ATT): the app asks whether you allow tracking across other companies' apps and websites. If you decline, ads can still appear but are not personalized by tracking.
Android: ads use the Android advertising ID, which you can reset or delete in your device settings.
iPhone Pro: if you buy ReefDrift Pro, ads are not shown and the consent and tracking prompts are skipped.

Purchases (iPhone)

ReefDrift Pro is processed by Apple (App Store) under Apple's terms and privacy policy. We receive no payment details. The app checks your purchase status with the App Store. The Android app offers no purchase.

Permissions

Notifications: for the reminders you set. They are scheduled on the device.
Android only: exact alarms, so reminders can fire on time; internet access for ads.
iPhone only: App Tracking Transparency prompt, as described above.

Export and backups

CSV export creates a file that goes where you save or share it. We never receive it. On Android, your device's system backup (Google) may also include app data, depending on your device settings.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Your rights

We hold no personal data about you, so there is nothing to access, correct or delete on our side. For data handled by Google for ads, use Google's controls and your device settings. Under the GDPR you may contact us or your data protection authority with any request or complaint.

Changes

If this policy changes, the effective date above changes with it.
